OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE EXPERIENCE
Turner Medical clinic offers a full range of Occupational Medicine services to the businesses of the River Parishes. Between 1988 and 1990 Dr. Joseph Turner completed the Core Curriculum of Occupational Medicine offered by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and has over 15 years experience performing occupational medicine services. He also became a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) for interpreting drug screen results.
OCCUPATIONAL SERVICES
For those companies who offer annual wellness physicals to their employees, we have all the necessary equipment to perform valuable preventive medicine services including complete lab work, EKG and full physical exam. We also do OSHA/NIOSH certified spirometry for respirator clearance, and audiometry for OSHA mandated hearing conservation programs. The only service we do not perform is respirator fit testing. In special circumstances for larger companies with an occupational nurse, we go to the plant to perform wellness physicals on-site.
We also perform Worker's Compensation services for on-the-job injuries. For those companies that use us consistently for their occupational medicine work, we promise same day appointments for injuries. A new service available beginning February 2005 is electrical stimulation treatments for musculoskeletal injuries. This allows for a much more rapid return to full duty after injuries.
Urine drug screening programs, whether post-accident, for cause, or random are available. We use a DOT/NIDA certified laboratory. We can also perform DOT breath alcohol screening.
